After the content optimization, a robot of search engines will index the content. By applying the keywords in the content, search engines will have a conclusion about your contents. If anyone is searching for information containing the keywords, search engines will display links to your website.
But there will be many links on the search engine result. Your link will be competed with others. Your position on the search engine result will depend on your rank. The most relevant content or website - that have many backlinks (referenced by other websites) will be ranked higher. Therefore we need to get backlinks as many as possible.

If there are many websites that have the same content as ours, it will be difficult to occupy high ranking or in the top ten of the search engine results. But you have to be optimistic for having high ranking. Keep optimizing your content and getting as many backlinks as you can. And the most importantly, continue to develop your website content that is useful to your visitors.
